5 Reasons to buy a Nintendo Switch

Reason 1: Zelda Breath Of The Wild

Receiving some of best video games reviews of 2017, The legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild is one of the best adventure games in recent history. On Metacritic  it received a 99%.

Reason 2: Great for Families/Parties!

One of the few games released, is a gamed called 1-2 switch.  1-2 Switch is one of the most unique Nintendo party games ever. Some games don’t even require you too look at the screen. While, a bit expensive, the 28 different mini-games can be played with two or more players. It’s a lot of fun to play and even more to watch others play.

Reason 3: Battery Life is Solid

The stamina of the Nintendo Switch has been something of a talking point ever since it was revealed that the console would last between three to six hours on a single charge. While it may seem like three to six hours is small, there a few handheld devices that will last much longer with constant usage. For instance, in one test done by Forbes ranked the Switch right behind the iPad mini, in the battery life performance dept.
The Switch outlasted not only the majority of the 3DS and DS peripherals but also the iPads and the Vita:

  • Nintendo Switch – 5.12hrs
  • iPad Mini 2 – 5.39hrs

Notably, It does takes about 3 ½ hours to fully charge the battery pack with the power off, although this will vary depending on how much charge is left in the battery when the recharge begins.

Reason 4: The Joy-Cons Are Fantastic

The Nintendo switch also comes with a set of innovative controllers. It’s actually two controllers, and they work together to behave as a single controller when connected to a special dock or on the sides of the console. If you think that sounds a little unusual and potentially uncomfortable, you aren’t alone. New Nintendo controllers are often looked at as kind of awkward at first, but historically have become quite popular as it gets used.

The attention to detail, such as the truly remarkable haptic feedback, not only adds to the experience of the game, but also give a style unlike any other console. Even the way the Joy-Cons snap into place convey a premium feeling – the kind of gadget lust that has eluded Nintendo for generations now.

Notably, there were some reports of syncing issues, however Nintendo is currently investigating. Also, there’s no way to charge the Joy-Con while they’re attached – if their 20-hour charge runs out. Once they run out of juice you must re-attach them to the tablet to charge them. Alternatively, you can buy the $30 Joy-Con Charging Grip.

Reason 5: Right Price

The Nintendo Switch, brand-new, costs the same as the years-old Xbox One and PlayStation 4. Even if you buy it with a copy of “The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild,” you’re likely paying less than $400, including tax.

Still, for what you’re getting, it is a fantastic price-point. This is a console that offers something truly different and compelling from the rest of the pack. It combines the best of mobile gaming with the best of traditional home console gaming.  It will never boast the most advanced graphics or 4K, but the new gaming experience is worth every penny.
