Okay, I’m going to be completely honest, if you haven’t seen the most recent Game of Thrones, get back inside the Red Keep, close the doors, and ring the bells because there are about to be some major spoilers on this rant! I don’t even know where to begin. I’m still trying to wrap my mind around everything that happened last night. I thought “how can anything top the Battle of Winterfell?” but last night I was proven so wrong. During the 3rd episode of this season I was filled with tears and sadness but this time I’m just filled with anger…I think?

I want to start off by saying the first 25 minutes, with the exception of the punishment for Lord Varys (which my heart still breaks for), was nothing but boring to say the least. I thought that we were going to be stuck watching another episode like last week just waiting for something exciting to happen. BOY WAS I WRONG BECAUSE IT GOT REAL, FAST!

Let’s just state the obvious, Dany is absolutely wild, am I right? I found myself, at 9:50 last night screaming at my television saying “Dude! They surrendered!” while my girlfriend screamed “Babe it’s just a tv show!” I don’t even know what to say about Dany. Is she the Mad Queen? Is she justified for what she did? Do I like her? Do I not? I’m just at a complete sheer loss for words. Every time I try to find a solid reason for Dany lighting all of King’s Landing up like a grill, I just see that little girls’ toy horse and I get angry again!

Do not even get me started on Jon Snow. He literally could’ve called his men to retreat at anytime at all, but what did Jon do? He waited until numerous people were killed by the Unsullied, Dany and Drogon, and his own men! In a redeeming moment he did save one woman by killing one of his own Northern Men. I think the real MVP of the battle was Ser Davos Seaworth. He was down on the streets of King’s Landing, in Flea Bottom where he grew up, helping people escape the burning city! Shout out to you Davos!

In what could have been the worst scene of the episode, Jamie and Cersei go down in the worst possible way. Now rubble falling down and blacking out the screan is an awful way to go but that’s how you’re going to wipe out two characters that have MAJOR roles in the show? Poor infrastructure? C’mon writers?! Both deserve something way better than that! Like I even feel bad the Cersei is gone and that’s something I’ve wanted since the show started! She is the single cause for almost all the characters we love dying off and yet, I feel bad! Although I’m going to be honest, I don’t really care about Jamie. I’m just going to miss him and Tyrion together.

Finally I will touch on the one thing I found satisfying, The Hound vs The Mountain. The amount of time we’ve waited for this clash of titans to happen was longer than the time it took to make this new season! As a huge fan of Hafþór Júlíus Björnsson aka the Mountain, I was super excited to see his helmet come off and see the two look in each others eyes. I cheered when The Hound finally plunged his long sword into him but like, he didn’t die. I figured “yeah he’s a beast he isn’t going down that easily.” but then he shoved a dagger through his eye and he stilled didn’t go down?????? WHAT???? I found it so satisfying and sad at the same time seeing the Hound tackle the Mountain through that wall and fall all the way into the fire. We grew to love the Hound and his love for, basically his daughter, Arya. Also on a side rant, I don’t even know what Arya was thinking in that episode so I’m not even going to go there!

All in all I’m so excited to see what happens in the final episode. If it is as intense as last night, we are in for something great. I just don’t want to see all the innocent people go which will be pretty upsetting. Jon Snow needs to take out Dany or like something good needs to happen to give us all some closure of what happened at King’s Landing. Oh well, guess we will wait and see next week!
