Cuffing Season is Over!

Cuffing Season is Over!

Cuffing Season is Over!

So, the weather is getting nicer and we’re LOVING it!  Also, with the warm weather comes the death of…. cuffing season.

In honor of flirting season, I have some interesting flirting facts that might help you when you’re trying to read someone’s subtle hints.

WHY DO PEOPLE FLIRT?

A study in 2004 found we flirt for six different reasons.  1) We want to hook up  2) We’re just having fun  3) We’re “exploring” to see what it would be like to date the person  4) We’re trying to increase intimacy  5) We’re trying to boost our own self-esteem  6) We’re trying to manipulate the other person.

Btw- If you think it’s wrong to be manipulative and flirt to just get what you want, you may be in the minority.  Check out our Twitter poll.

HOW WE FLIRT – GUYS VS. GIRLS

Guys like being direct, but women prefer open-ended questions.  Men prefer straightforward lines like, “You’re cute.  Can I buy you a drink?”  But women like it when a guy opens with a question like, “What team are you rooting for?”  A bunch of studies have shown that almost no one likes corny pick-up lines.

WHAT WE THINK ABOUT FLIRTING – HOW WE READ IT – GUYS VS. GIRLS

Men overestimate how interested women are, and women do the opposite.  In other words, guys think they have a shot with almost ANYONE.  And sometimes women don’t even realize a guy’s flirting.  They just think he’s being nice.

THE BEST TIME TO FLIRT

Women are more responsive to flirting when it’s nice out.  Researchers had guys try to get women’s numbers when the sun was out, and when it was cloudy.  And they got more numbers when it was sunny.

Suns out.  Guns out.  Time to getting flirting!  Enjoy!
