It’s Time to Act on Climate Change: A Conversation with Katharine Hayhoe

November 16 @ 1:00 pm

Nationally renowned climate scientist and Christian activist Katharine Hayhoe will speak at University Baptist and Brethren Church (UBBC), 411 S. Burrowes St., at 1 p.m., Friday, November 16.
The event, “It’s Time to Act on Climate Change: A Conversation with Katharine Hayhoe,” is sponsored by the State College Chapter of Citizens’ Climate Lobby (CCL) and PA Interfaith Power and Light. It is free and open to the public.
From her special perspective as both a climate scientist and an evangelical Christian, Dr. Hayhoe will discuss the challenges facing our society as we confront the urgent climate crisis. She will address the moral, political, economic, and social issues that are all part of this looming emergency. Katharine Hayhoe is able to bridge divides and inspire action to act together as we face an uncertain future.
Dr. Hayhoe, director of the Climate Science Center at Texas Tech University, is an accomplished atmospheric scientist. Time Magazine has named her one of the top 100 most influential people in the world. In 2016 she was named the Politico 50 List of “thinkers, doers and visionaries transforming American politics.” Last year, Fortune Magazine named her one of the world’s greatest leaders. She’s also been named one of Christianity Today’s “50 Women to Watch.”
