Slang Terms We Can Expect in 2019 and I’m So Lost

I usually pride myself in knowing the current slang terms (thanks to the BTerns). But reading predictions about what’s to become popular this year is making my brain hurt.

So I guess fleek, lit, fire, queen are words of the past? Here are a few new ones to expect in 2019:

1. “Bet.” It means you’re in agreement with something. So kind of like saying “you bet,” but without the word “you.”

2. “Get a bag.” It means a bag of money. If you “get a bag,” you’re talking about getting paid or coming into money somehow.

3. “No cap.” It’s basically the same as saying, “no lie.”

4. “Out of pocket.” It means out of control. So if your friend does something crazy, you might say they’re “out of pocket.”

5. “Weak.” I thought that meant something was bad, but it mean something different now!! If something’s really funny, you might hear someone say they’re “weak” from laughing so hard.

Okay… maybe I’ve heard of that definition before too.
