Jobs are a pain in the butt. The hours, the people, the work can all get annoying no matter how much we love what we do. It is really the perks that make the job enjoyable.
Maybe you get free lunch every once in a while…
Maybe you get great benefits or discounts at stores…
Maybe you get a few extra vacation days or can work remotely…
Well there are two job ideas that might take perks to a whole new level: Paw-ternity & Canoodle on the Clock
BrewDog, a Scottish brewery now offers a week of paid leave for employees with new puppies or rescued dogs. BrewDog will be the first company in the United States to offer the “paw-ternity” benefit. A newborn puppy can be a full-time job. Company co-founder James Watt states, “We wanted to take the stress out of the situation and let our teams take the time they need to welcome their new puppy or dog into their family.”
Canoodle on the Clock
One Swedish town’s politician is hoping to give workers the greatest perk of all: the freedom to making whoopie on the clock. The proposal comes from Per-Erik Muskos, a council member for Övertorneå, Sweden. It requires companies to give workers an hour paid break to go home and give their partners the business. While they can’t officially track their employees’ activities, and have them take them on their word, Mr. Muskos thinks people will be happier and be more productive. Sounds like he is just proposing what lunch is already like for some of us 😉
