The Karen’s Diner atmosphere and waitstaff are modeled after what is known as a stereotypical Karen personality type created by the internet.

According to Urban Dictionary:

Middle aged woman, typically blonde, makes solutions to others’ problems an inconvenience to her although she isn’t even remotely affected.
