Imagine this: You graduate high school, and then within six months you are the Mayor of your town.
While this may seem crazy, it has become reality for 18-year old Jaylen Smith of Earle, Arkansas.
Smith was elected the Mayor of Earle, Arkansas, on Tuesday December 6th with a victory of the school districts superintendent Nemi Matthews Sr.
Not only is Smith an 18-year old Mayor, but he is also the youngest black mayor in United States history.
The town of under 2,000 total people elected Smith to the position of mayor in a special runoff election.
