One of Jason’s favorite comedies is Tropic Thunder. Staring Ben Stiller, Jack Black, Robert Downey Jr., Brandon T. Jackson, and Tom Cruise, it is an over-the-top comedy that pushed the boundaries with race and war. The most hilarious parts of the film are the multiple fake trailers for movies that will never exist, but should.

  • Robert Downey was a creepy priest in the movie “Satan’s Alley” 
  • Ben Stiller was the lead in a Forest Gump style movie called “Simple Jack“
  • Jack Black stared in the Eddie Murphey rip off called “The Fatties“

A new site has now compiled all of the fake movies into one place. SNL skits, animated shows, and more. The site claims, “Fictional movies within movies? Got ‘em. Fake shows within shows? You bet. Browse our selection of over 400 stories within stories.” While the search is a little lackluster (i.e. couldn’t search for “Jack Black”), and you can’t actually watch the fake movies, it is a fun site to explore and go down memory lane.
