This year’s 36th annual VMAs will be held on Monday, August 26 at the Prudential Center in Newark, New Jersey, beginning at 9 p.m. ET. This will be the first VMAs ceremony ever held in the state–past ceremonies have taken place in New York City, Miami, Los Angeles, and Las Vegas.

If you have cable, there’s no shortage of options for you: the VMAs will be broadcast live on several Viacom channels including MTV, MTV2, VH1, BET, and Comedy Central. You can also stream the show online on

Comedian Sebastian Maniscalco will host this year’s VMAs. Maniscalco is best known as a stand-up comedian–his most recent tour, titled Stay Hungry, is now available as a Netflix special–but he’s also appeared in movies like this year’s Best Picture winner, Green Book.
